Ah, this is more like it. Complimentary shortbread and hopefully also hot drinks. The weather is going to be crap for some days, so I will spend the next two nights in a hotel in Dundee. But that is quite near, so taking the scenic route, first to Inverness on this lovely even if quite outdated train. Apparently the drivers don’t like these at all, ergonomics and crash safety are rubbish? #Interrail #ScotRail #FreeStuff

@tml great as a passenger and utterly iconic, but they are ~50 years old and just don't have the same ergonomics and design experience as newer trains
There's already a 125 Preservation Trust with active examples in preservation

First Class was almost full on the Edinburgh–Inverness service, but for this Inverness–Aberdeen one it is just me and two ScotRail staff so far. Nice.
