You really can't make this up:
Jørgen Boassen a MAGA loving Greenlander (apparently there is at least one) was staying with Governor Jeff Landry for Mardi Gras and told him that his mother has been misdiagnosed and died of sepsis and that the health service sucked. Jeff Landry then told trump about all this and it turned into sending aid in the form of a hospital ship!

No, a sailor on a US nuclear sub off Greenland needed immediate hospitalisation, and Denmark/Greenland got him off the sub and evacuated him to lifesaving care in the Capital Nuuk.
It would have created a warm story of allies, mutual care, friendly Greenlanders, so Trump shat out a lie the press would replace it with.
Its always worse than you think.

@X31Andy If there is one thing I am confident in predicting, it is that the U.S. will not under any circumstances provide better health services than Denmark. I can't imagine what grade of rose-tinted glasses you would need to believe that.

@andreaslindholm @X31Andy Yep. And the reality of life is that medicine is as much an art as a science. Misdiagnoses happen, also non-blameable ones, and patients die. Every MD owns a corner of a graveyard. And a corporate health care system that only the well off can afford doesn't perform any better on that.

@proscience @X31Andy Between being in drydock at the time, and scheduled for further work in Portland, it seems doubtful it's going to be mobilised to Greenland (even if it were suitable).
