@VeroniqueB99
I'm one of the first Boomers and I have helped several immigrants or homeless people hunt for jobs. Those "help wanted" signs in shop windows are a joke.
Go to the library, use their computer to fill out an application designed for all jobs ever, requiring a personality screening to see if you are a "team player" for a damned min wage job in a carwash. Then be told thanks, now look for an email (oops, get an email account; check inbox daily at library) if chosen for interview. -

@VeroniqueB99 we boomers invented this HR bullshit, we can end it any time. Say, if we had to apply for a new job

@VeroniqueB99 this babyboomer wrote 150 letters and still had to decide to change her career. I am not scared of your realityshow

@VeroniqueB99 Well...actually.
Except I'm Gen X.
Mental breakdowns are also rather boring most the time. There's only brief periods of massive excitement. They require too much energy. Too much motivation.
People would get very bored and kind of tired of the silly character that keeps doing stupid shit and expecting different outcomes.
And it's not like I didn't apply those 30 years. Just never had this much silence from my phone before.

@VeroniqueB99 Oh. Can we make one where politicians, CEOs, etc. are forced to live on wellfare/dump salary...?
Edit: Damn, that idea already had a hippie 2000 years ago: "the rich will become poor" he called it "kingdom of heaven". -

@VeroniqueB99
In the 80s - early 90s I would go through the phone book and cold call the places I wanted to work for, and I had custom calling with 3 different #'s that I would use as a reference, they didn't know they were talking to me or my roommate -

"Just make sure you have a good cover letter that highlights your strengths".
Lol.
I screen resumes daily and don't even glance at the cover letters. The only time I pay any attention to them is to see if they look like they're written by AI as an instant no. I'd rather see something filled with English mistakes and know that the applicant put in the effort to write it themselves.

@VeroniqueB99 every episode you have the beat where they march physically into offices (with shoulder pads and a perm of course) to demand a job and get escorted off the property by security.

@VeroniqueB99 I can already envision spin-offs where various groups and professions are required to interact with the economic, social and political systems they've constructed as if they actually work as claimed.
