      @IveyJanette I said the same thing when I saw it on TV.

      “Surya Bonaly performed that SAME FREAKING MOVE TWENTY-EIGHT YEARS AGO.”

      She didn’t receive accolades. She was banned from the sport. For Heaven’s sake.

      You just cannot make this stuff up!

          @IveyJanette this is what I've been thinking all week!

            @sarae Once again,Black pioneers get ignored.

            I'm boycotting the Olympics this year because of the overt racism. Especially on NBC.

              @geonz Because they only view us as roller skaters.

              Or as the cleanup crew at the rink.

              Just like 1960.

                @clayrivers Because she's Black.

                They only view us as basketball and football players.

                Or the cleaning crew.

                In 2026.

                  @IveyJanette I Was watching the Olympics that year and saw it go down with my own eyes. What a travesty. The documentary somebody did on her career was phenomenal, triumphant, yet sad. Because … you know … racism.

                    @clayrivers They don't think we can skate,swim or ski. Even in 2026.

                    We were banned from rinks,pools and beaches back in the day. I know all the stories thanks to my mom and grandma.

                    Surya Bonaly and Tai Babilonia should have been hailed as pioneers on the rink. Instead,they were pushed aside.

                    I refuse to watch this year's Olympics because of that racist legacy.
