      @Long_live_rock_n_roll Ray Davies actually flew across the Atlantic twice that spring—racking up roughly 16,000 air miles—because the BBC banned “Lola” for product placement. His original lyric referenced "Coca-Cola". He re-recorded the line to "cherry cola" to secure commercial airplay, allowing the single to peak at number two in the UK.
