    Apple Calendar will add meeting invitations to your calendar from emails in your spam folder. Deleting the emails does not remove them from your calendar inbox. As far as I can tell the only "approved" way to get rid of the calendar invitation is to decline it, which sends a message to the sender.

    How frustrating. I swear the sheer amount of spam in daily life is madness-inducing. Our brains were not designed to deal with such a constant barrage of bullshit.
