My wife and I are at a hotel in downtown Austin for our anniversary. Last night there was a mass shooting at the bar next to our hotel. We watched as dozens of police cars swarmed the area.
There was no mention of what was happening on APD’s website, or on any of the local news outlets.
APD was updating Twitter, but if you don’t have an account there you wouldn’t know.
I don’t like how public safety communications is behind a wall owned by an avowed fascist.

@rk the fact that anyone remains on twitter or conducts any government business only on twitter is infuriating
