    #AskFedi:

If an app on Google's Play Store says it may share with third parties your "Name, email address, user ID and other info" for the purposes of "App functionality, Fraud prevention, security, and compliance, Account management" as well as your messages and your approximate location... could the data be used for ad targeting?

Even if the company says that the app in question is only to verify your identity and is separate from the other app it's verifying your identity for? And it says it's complying with European laws?

This is a toot about #WIdentity and #WSocial

I should have added for context that the W Social folks are very open about monetizing the platform via advertising ("clearly labeled and transparent") so I'm not really making assumptions about the potential for ad targeting...

Another slide from the presentation (which you can watch here: https://inv.nadeko.net/hQye2P45jHE?t=3 starting at about 5:50)

@elena I as going to suggest checking the actual privacy policy on the website proper, but the website doesn't seem to load on any browser/DNS I use. That's not reassuring.
