Yes. Yes. Yeeeeeees!

@fubsepude It was one of those, did it work? Sure. Was it ideal? Not even close. @Rich
@mew @fubsepude @Rich I think this means Samsung TTS is done for. It's useless to us now. Like samsung voices but not Google voices? Well, guess what? They're probably already removed it. You know what, Samsung should just make ESpeak default on all android devices. No, wait, better yet? ESpeak needs to be the standard default across android. Google TTS is not ideal in most situations so

@mew @fubsepude @Rich But in all seriousness, I think it is about damn time Samsung listened to us. Some people liked Voice assistant better though

@mew we have been asking them for that for a while now, but we still have to wait for 1UI 9.0 though witch could be at least another 6 months!
@JamminJerry @mew Then we'll finally at least be at the Android baseline lol. Then it'll be an uphill battle convencing Google that Braille is important, pronunciation dictionaries have been a thing since like forever, low latency when scrolling is important, Gmail needs a way to move from message to message in a thread, Play Books need automatic page turning, ETC. TalkBack 17 doesn't even improve much.

@pixelate @mew you know what sir? I am as you put it, fucking older. so please! educate me! what am I missing? if I am honestly missing something, I don't mind discussing it, but I was just making a point. an observation if you will. I hear nothing from you but bashing android, so if I am missing something, lets discuss it like adults, so that I can understand, and if I am wrong, I will totally admit it.

@JamminJerry @mew Have you seen where I've made shit like Termux more accessible so I can comfortably edit text, read email and such? I love the idea of Android. In fact if TalkBack handled Braille better and Google cared a bit more, I'd be on it 100%. I've been trying different Android phones for fucking years now. Pixel 8, Galaxy S20 FE, OnePlus 13, Galaxy S25 Plus. I spend money on these phones, give Google bug reports and shit, sign up for their stupid ass Trusted Tester program, and am one of the staff members at Accessible android. But oh no I hate Android right? Fuck this shit. All y'all see are the posts where I'm wanting more out of the fucking phones I buy because I know Google can do more than the pitiful releases of TalkBack we have now.

Yes. Yes. Yeeeeeees! Fuck yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees!!!!!!!!!
@mew @accessibleandroid About fucking time, only thing that sucks is that will be one of the last major android versions for my S23+ cause we can't give 7 years of support to it like the S24 lol.

@pixelate @mew well, see? I stand corrected! and I will appologise, but you are still not talking to me like an adult! I was serious, but you are still in attack mode! just chill dude! See? here I am publically admitting I was wrong. yes, I went by what I see for the most part, and I, was, wrong, and I admit it. the thing is me personally I like both androidk, and the IPhone but for different reasons. yes, android is my primary phone, and I would chose it over the IPhone anytime I can, however, I also know it has limitations, and yes, I wish it could do more, and yes, it fails in a lot of things, hents why having both an IPhone, and an android comes in handy. when one fails you, use the other, and just learn which one works in which cases. it is just like having NVDA, and JFW. it is like having a mac, and windows.

@JamminJerry @mew Okay, now that you understand, I'm out of attack mode. But my thing is, I only have one SIM card, so I have to choose either iPhone or Android, and I can only swap six times, I think it's six, in one month. I'm on US Mobile, besides that nonsense it's great. I can't do physical SIM cause iPhone 16 don’t have a SIM card slot. I hate that so much. But if Google would fix the issues I have, I could go 100% Android, easily. I mean I guess I could vibe code accessibility, previous/next message into an open source email client, or get Termux working with Braille stuff, but holy crap I'm just one person. I literally cannot bulldoze the nail that is Android into shape with AI. But TalkBack's image descriptions and Termux and stuff keep me coming back hoping I can find a fix for my issues. Ugh. I care too freaking much about this shit and I need to find a less stressful hobby.

@JamminJerry @mew It really is, and now that they have, these eSims can have limitations put on them. And I guess I get it a little, normal people don't have two phones and swap between them constantly. Sadly though, I'm very much not normal.

@pixelate @mew well I don't like it, because like you I love testing things for people, and breaking theml. oops, did I asay that? I will go from my pixel 9 pro XL to my S24 Ultra, to my smart vision vision 3 running android 11 of all things. smile. my boss had me try my meta glasses on the smart vision 3, and holy christ that was a very bad idea! ROFL! but at least for me, switching the ESim from one phone to another is trickier than just popping the sim out of one phone, and plopping it into another phone. this is just me of course.

@JamminJerry @mew Oh goodness, yeah I'm gonna keep both of my phones. If I could just get a little data line for the S25, I could use google voice for the number. I just need data because when I leave for work, I have to clock in, and when I leave from work, I have to clock out. It kinda sucks but meh, they tell me what to do not the other way around. I really like using Braille though, because I'm basically wearing the input/output method. No need to put out the keyboard, pull out the earbuds, and them put them back in after I'm done. I think if I had a Mantis Q40 I’d be able to handle things better, although I’d still have to jigger Termux up to work with Braille better. But all I have is the NLS EReader, Humanware version. And work has no money to buy newer tech anymore cause government.

@pixelate me personally I don't read braille unless I have to as I am really slow at reading it. I always have been, and sometimes I even have reversals. that was what my teachers called it when I attended OSSB. I would mistake an I for an E, a D for an F, ETC. it didn't and doesn't happen all the time, but it happens enough that they noticed it when I was in school.

@mew @JamminJerry Yep, I'm just that terrible of a person.
@pixelate @mew @JamminJerry Nah, pronunciation dictionary is a basic thing and Talkback still doesn't have it. Let's add more stuff, but not deal with what people actually want.
