    Let's be clear about something.

    Cis society coerces and brainwashes trans kids into ways of being that it chooses, against our wills and our inclinations, and it does so before we can even have a say in what happens to us.

    And THEN, cis people hold us responsible for the impact of the abuse they subject us to. Some even call it a "privilege."

    They refer to their coercive manipulation of us as "socialization" when in reality, it's systematic torture and deformation of a person's being.

      I'm pretty clear on the fact that cis society and THEIR culture are an engine for trauma and abuse that cis people repackage as a "normal" and "healthy" upbringing for the kids THEY very widely abuse the fuck out of.

      Don't let the bastards tell you that you're responsible for the effects of their fuckery.

          @timberwraith
          I do wonder where the idea came from? Was it purely some theory/propaganda bullshit or was there some toxic Trans person who (unlike the other 99%) was just being a fuckwit and the fall out from it ranslated into all this Karen'ing?

            @timberwraith

            Even for cis kids, especially perhaps for cis kids (because they don't want trans kids to exist, so they're going to gear their abuses towards the kids they think matter), it's a wide variety of tortures and abuses which are geared towards dehumanization. Remove the impulses which let us be happy and healthy people, just so that we can be neat and efficient little cogs which fit nicely into the Machine. A Machine which includes women-as-things and men-as-abusers.

              @Kalshann The notion of "male socialization" being applied to transfem people's experiences of this traumatic system came *directly* from cis feminism.

                So propaganda, yeah, that makes the most sense since it's the most cruel version of why it came about.

                  @Kalshann The idea has since propagated into the general culture and much of the associated ideas and verbiage were adopted by the right wing.

                  There's a direct through-line from prejudicial ideologies of anti-trans cis feminism of decades past and much of the anti-trans rhetoric of the right wing. The right appropriated those ideas and language for themselves.
