Distracting myself by emailing local radio stations to ask if I can remind farmers east of Saskatoon to keep an eye out for Starlink debris while they're seeding.

You know, totally a normal thing to do. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatchewan/saskatoon-space-debris-satelitte-reentry-1.7643516

Semi irrelevant ignore if not in the mood.
sudden wondering if a field still counts as organic when there is satellite debris spread in the soil. And how much debris does it need to matter?

@emily_s There are very few organic farmers around here, but I've also had this thought! One farmer told me his neighbour seeded right over one of the SpaceX crew dragon trunk pieces. So...would you like some carbon fibre and rocket fuel with your vegetable oil?

@sundogplanets maybe you’ve already addressed this but is there a specific reason this garbage is rainig down on remote regions in Canada? By design?

@MedeaVanamonde No. It's essentially random (with some slightly higher density latitude bands due to how orbits are chosen). We are finding it in Saskatchewan because it's the easiest place in the world to find it. I strongly suspect pieces are falling everywhere.

@sundogplanets ah…but if we could prove he was though…that would be a PR disaster…intentional littering.
Is anyone keeping a global database of Starlink refuse? -

Is anyone keeping a global database of Starlink refuse?@MedeaVanamonde No. Because it's hard to find. It *does* seem to be breaking up into very small pieces. I'm going on the local farmer talk radio show tomorrow to try to get farmers to look for pieces that may have fallen east of Saskatoon. That's the only way we can check.
