@alice Or fail upwards from their bad decisions, and start believing they are always right. If anyone right now is thinking about Elon Musk, that is no coincidence.

          * "Towards themselves", I imagine is your point, yes?

I just can't wrap my head around it sometimes. I know it's the point, that I'm not a person who would be so careless towards others, but how can they just have everything and not be satisfied?

@alice most politicians are so out of touch with reality living in their own delusional bubble.

If you look at third world countries the reason why their culture is stagnant is because the elders shut the younger generation up. You aren't allowed to correct them when they say anything factually incorrect. It's considered rude. So people go on being handicapped on progression living in fairy tales.

The strongest part of grass is the root. The weakest is the crusty old tip flaking off. America for most part has been innovative through youthful generations ideas. Hell even Russia knows all this.

Sadly when you look at all Americas politicians it looks like a geriatrics station. One step away from wheelchairs rolling into office. It's embarrassing. Really ridiculous. Turning into 3rd world country. As long as they are good with their healthcare paid by US tax dollars they think rest of country receives same great care. Fuck em all.

@alice vaccinations. Only in a society no longer burdened by the horrors of many diseases due to vaccinations, could a movement start screaming about how vaccines are actually The Devil.

@alice And when they face the mildest of mild consequences (such as people suggesting the harm they're causing others is maybe not so great) the only way they know how to respond is to cast themselves as the victim.

This is another reason why Larry Summers should not have been in academia after 2005.

Mostly men. Old men. Sprinkle in a few women and younger people.

                            But still mostly old men.

@fruitcakesareyum @alice I think of it a bit like a shopping (or shoplifting maybe) addiction. They don't get a rush or satisfaction from HAVING the stuff, they get the rush from OBTAINING the stuff, and of course they can never be satisfied - they have to keep obtaining more.
