    Nobody is saying the loud part because they are too deep into AI now. They know teh only way to keep going is to pretend everything is working as promised. This is how the dot-com era happened & the upcoming AI bubble crash will too. They are disconnected from our reality. There is no cure for AI psychosis at CEO levels 😂

    @nixCraft I made the prediction in 2024, that many companies are perfectly willing to pay much more for an AI "employee" that doesn't do the pesky talking back than a human.

      @nixCraft AI doesn’t retire a bonus, pension plan, career path and any kind of pesky “management” … so yeah, makes sense for greedy sociopaths.

          @nixCraft
          Nice perspective to add to the hype and panic. There is a lot to be concerned about and at the same time value to be gained from our emerging AI tools. More importantly, as you point out the sanity and sobriety of implementation is largely absent. Self-immoliation resulting from #fomo!

            @nixCraft Wait, the cloud wasn't cheaper and probably led to vendor lock-in. And AI isn't cheaper, and presumably would like some lock-in.

            Huh.

                      @nixCraft the compute is still being subsided by investors and sold below cost.

                        @nixCraft The human brain has like 86 billion neurons. Let's lowball it and assume that each neuron will need 1kB of memory to simulate. That means that a low estimate of a human level AI would need 86TB of memory to function. And that's just the memory.

                        @fulddamppaahelespektret @nixCraft actually, because neurons are complicated, for a genuine human level AI, you'd need several petabytes of storage. And considering it's impossible to replicate a human brain in AI due to completely different way of processing data, the storage part is trivial to attain.

                              @nixCraft Democratic leadership cant fix problems, if they did there would be nothing to run against. If you had an actual opposition party they would be running on a platform of fund the IRS like it's ICE and tax the wealth hoarding idiots out of existence. This is a captured system where both parties are being drawn behind corporate financing.
