"there is always a well-known solution to every human problem — neat, plausible, and wrong."Why not legislate a option for users to turn off the algorithm? A check box that changes what posts you see to people, hashtags, etc you have subscribed to.
Doesn't solve malicious ads, but it's a good start.

Great to see this happen and break the toxic cycle of addictive technology imposed upon us!
Now the same should be done for the indoctrination attempts and fake content on these media. And that starts with education. Truth under attack!

One way or another, we should agree on a term that catches on, because calling ad-tech platforms 'social media' has to end. We shouldn't discuss communication platforms without clearly distinguishing between harmful and non-harmful ones anymore. -
