@rasterweb Actually, second gear isn't a bad place to be stuck—most cars can still pull away from a stop without stalling, and you can go faster than being stuck in first.

Being stuck in first or third (or higher) would be worse.

@ColesStreetPothole First is the worst! I had to dive my manual transmission car in a parade once... it was not enjoyable.

I assume the word "second" worked better than "first" in the song lyrics.
