Starmer is toast.

Starmer is toast. He may not be lying down yet, but he's surely dead. As a long-term Labour supporter I'm sorry to say even his departure is too little, too late. Like many other former solid Labour supporters I'm now a member of the Green party because it's closer to socialist than "Starmer's Labour." https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2026/feb/27/labour-worst-fears-realised-greens-victory-gorton-denton-byelection

MUCH closer! Starmer is so right he thinks he can never be wrong.
Small people in large positions are always dangerous (cf. Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson). -

I come from a labour voting tradition. My father, a bus driver, was proudly in the transport and general workers union (tgwu). I remember him being proud of a photo with Neil Kinnock.
But I won't vote for a neo liberal labour party.
I won't vote for a labour party owned by corporate and bailionaire interests.
I won't vote for a labour party that is degrading our democracy and corrupting our judicial system, all in the service of Zionism.
I won't vote for genocide enablers.

What matters in the labour party is "managed democracy" to stamp out progressives, the labour clique that helped Tories defeat Corbin, the clique that decides Andy can't run. The opposition to proportional voting and local control.
The Green needs ownership by it's members, and unless THAT is assured the greens are at risk of ossification as well.
Build DEMOCRACY everywhere.
Good luck to labour party members getting your managed by the top party back.

@holdenweb Me too. I've been a socialist since I became old enough to vote, and Zack and his crew are the only socialists currently in British politics. So they have my vote.
Green + Socialist = Home + People.

@charlesdelavalleepoussin I'm afraid that if Starmer goes, he is replaced by Streeting who is just a Starmer clone. Labour is DONE in its current guise, it is toxic and undemocratic

@holdenweb yep my affiliations are definitely more Green than Labour these days. They could have done so much yet they have just turned into pink Tories.
