The person then points the gun at their own head and pulls the trigger. It is pure chance if they survive or not.

Considering the fact that a massive amount of #agriculture and #food is dependent on an open Hormuz - if he walks away from this mess he has created, it would indeed fall on the rest of the world to clean it up or die of starvation.

In this case, it's metaphorical. It refers to a person taking a dumb, unnecessary action that may very well cause them great damage in some way.

@randahl while all the blame trump get is deserved. Europe did not oppose the war at first. Now that the consequences of the war effect them they start claiming they never did support it and still refuse tocput pressure on Trump, they put the pressure on Iran again.
