if nix is slopware now, what do we use instead...it's NOT guix...i tried that and it's not really good.

Guix is basically gnu nix.
NixOS is an (now slopware) operating system fully built with nix.
Guix System (that's what they call it ) is basically gnu nixos.
overall i find guix worse because it's less documented, it's...well...made by gnu, and the guile scheme it uses is too cursed to comprehend...it's all paranthesis... -
