    1/3 all done.
two young apple trees (planted June/July 2024).

The columnar Blushing Delight beside the house didn't need much. Just a few crossing branches.

The Northern Spy is a little more wild and I want it as tall as possible for shade and walking room. I took away one major leader on the north side. Next year Ill decide if I want to take it down to one leader.

2/3 the transplanted arbutus is doing great(2021)

We installed a new deer and child proof fence this past fall so it is up against that now but it grew so fast (3-4ft) last year that I hope it just keeps going and branches out above the fence.

Removed everything on the bottom. 🀞

Our young plum tree (2025) is too little to prune much. Just took out a couple dead twigs. The deer were mean last year. Hopefully it recovers.

3/3 I decided not to touch the hazelnut for now. it is doing well. I don't really want it too much taller. I like the shape of it.

@mmol thanks πŸ™‚ it started as just a little twig in a pot from a yard sale! I was worried it might get damaged from all the digging around it but it seems to have come through it just fine!

@chris What do you think of the columnar apple, if you don't mind my asking? Is the fruit good? I was thinking of purchasing one, so I am curious about the experience of others.
