If you had the resources, what book would you put in hotels, a la Gideons bibles?

@michelestrider
Neal Stephenson ‘In the Beginning Was the Command Line’@flyingsaceur This is the most Mastodon answer yet

If you had the resources, what book would you put in hotels, a la Gideons bibles? (This may be a very American question, I dunno.)
@michelestrider I think it would be a benefit to have random Goosebumps books.

@michelestrider A book of poems by the current US poet laureate at the time the hotel was built. So if you visit a lot of hotels, you’ll get to see a lot of different poems!
-
@michelestrider Fun fact, Marriott hotel rooms have a copy of the Book of Mormon in addition to a Bible.
@michelestrider Because the Marriotts are Mormon. ( Not sure how many people not from Utah know this. ) @liferstate

@CatsofArrakis Now that's fun!
-
I know it's not that shocking but I think a guide to local insects in each region (especially the ants) with cute photos and fun facts would be awesome.
"Meet The Bugs of [insert small town name]"
@futurebird
It's not shocking, but also that's why we love you.

@liferstate Do those use onion skin paper that can double as rolling papers? Asking for a friend
@michelestrider I used to have a copy of the Book of Mormon (never read it, maybe I should have?) and it just had regular-weight paper.
Though I'm told any paper can be a rolling paper if you're desperate enough.
-
Could go with 10th of December too. George Saunders is 100%%%
Thanks for posing such a nerdy question.
I like it!

Re-reading it currently. No relationship to anything going on in the world nowadays, of course
