Pedestrians wearing headphones are exposed to an increased risk of accidents. In an effort to reduce collisions with cyclists, Škoda Auto, in collaboration with scientists, introduces an innovative bicycle bell whose sound can penetrate even active noise cancellation systems. In doing so, it helps prevent injuries to both pedestrians and cyclists.

@TechConnectify my Thunderbird android App too just won't notify me for one specific e-Mail and it is driving me nuts.

I always have had different ringtones and vibration patterns. But for me the biggest problem is People flooding important chat groups with nonsense. Drowning out the actual information to the point that this information is only read by 1/2 of the members.

@TechConnectify So this is a weird thing that I do but ... before I stopped using my Palm Pre I copied off all the fonts and sounds. I still use the Palm Guitar sound as my alarm clock tone. I really loved how much work went into the sound design on that OS.

@TechConnectify I set the default notification sound of my phone to silence and selected letters of the NATO alphabet for some chats. I love it and it's super useful! Unfortunately Android doesn't allow me to mute these sounds while my Bluetooth devices are disconnected, or I'm listening to a podcast! Not even using a third-party app!

@TechConnectify The designers of the B-1B bomber decided that we weren't making full use of pilot's ears. So the system included a dozen different alert sounds. It turns out, that was breaking their concentration because they had to decode those different sounds.

The B-2, OTOH, uses voice warnings. So instead of "bing-bing-bong", you get "missile launch."

not following along for customized notification sounds so much… I much prefer silent notifications and only having important stuff show up on my watch. My attention span is bad enough, I don't need further distractions if possible.
