    Question for the runners out there: What do you do with your phone? The arm straps look _fine_ but kinda meh, and belts look nice but also too bulky for just the phone

    Is there anything better out there that I'm missing?

      @harshil Yes. The answer is a running waist belt. You'll need to get one in the right size for you, but they work perfectly. I put my phone in the front and my keys in the back and off I go.

      Mine is from Salomon. Called "Pulse". I'm happy with it.

        @harshil I’ve got some of these double running shorts in with a tight layer inside, that’s got a pocket. Works well for me even with a big phone. Most of the time I run with a watch only though.

          @marcel Hmm I’m gonna have to try one out maybe. I’m just wary of the idea of having something on my stomach while I’m breathing really hard and so it’s likely to move all around

            @harshil I completely get that. I got this recommendation from a friend who runs like 25 (ultra) marathons each year and it doesn't bother him or me (0 marathons each year). Worth a try. 🙂

                @harshil I leave it at home and go watch only. I’m generally a podcast listener but I have found sync to be so bad it’s almost useless. So I end up just leaving headphones at home too very often.

                  @harshil I just remembered I also experimented with a running belt. It worked ok for an iPhone mini. But it wasn’t my favorite for a bunch of reasons. Have never tried again with a larger phone but I suspect it will be just a bit worse. May be worth considering though.

                      @harshil I use the SPIBelt (https://spibelt.com/products/the-spibelt). Works great with the 6.3” form factor.

                        @harshil @marcel I use a Salomon Active Sling belt. It’s small enough that it basically fits my phone and keys and nothing else. The belt is adjustable but not stretchy so it doesn’t get loose. I wear it on my back which I find slightly nicer than having it on front; it does move around a bit but getting it tight enough helps.

                          @harshil +1 for leaving the phone at home and go watch only. I started doing it over a year ago, and never looked back. I have the regular non-cellular model and the tracking is as good as with a cell connection. I listen to music or audiobooks that I download to the watch

                            @harshil Yes. Shorts with a compression-like inner that has a phone pocket. Game-changing 😀

                              @harshil i usually use shorts with a liner on the inside that holds the phone. For my long runs I have a half tight that has a bunch of pockets and it holds the phone really well.

                                @harshil to be clear, a running belt holds phone in the small of your back. I always run with a phone, accidents happen, not a Watch guy. Mostly it’s a camera. Longer runs I use tights with thigh pockets. Short runs I often just hold the phone in my hand like an animal. For context, I run 40-50 miles a week.
