    @structuredsucc You don’t juggle with arms raised outstretched and the objects forming a perfect arc only above your head.

      @structuredsucc "Gundam" isn't a generic word for giant robot!

      Its like a brand name, like Ferrari. Most mecha in the Gundam anime franchise aren't even Gundams.

      The generic term for a mech from the Gundam franchise is "mobile suit," and statistically the most common mobile suit is a Zaku. They made so many of those things.

        @structuredsucc

        My special interest is power, and the means people use to hold it over other people. What just about everybody I've met gets wrong is that religion and marketing/propaganda are the same thing, a means to trick people into giving up their power. Everybody wants to see religion as a net positive and will fight like hell to avoid seeing that it's not. And thus the cycle of abuse continues. A religious upbringing is hard core child abuse. So is genital mutilation, while I'm at it. Why the everloving fuck is that barbaric shit legal anywhere?!?!?

                @structuredsucc While lots of fans don't have this problem, some folks into The Murderbot Diaries and the Murderbot show refer to Murderbot/SecUnit with he/him (and occasionally she/her) pronouns. Its pronouns are it/its. The story is very clear on this. It even uses them self-referentially. It's also meant entirely neutrally. Yes it's "dehumanizing" but bots don't want to be human, it is not demeaning or indicative that it isn't a person.

                      @structuredsucc Carrots are not actually good for rabbits (in large quantities) due to their high sugar content. A little bit of carrot is okay, though.

                            Completely agree! Bees are the helpful, friendly joy bringer, imo. Wasps are just flying anger needles

                            Also, ants are really closely related to wasps! If you see flying ants and you compare them to wasps, you can definitely see the similarities

                                    When you brew what's called a black tea in the Western countries it is a liquid of red-adjacent colours, isn't it?

                                    In Chinese it is literally named "red" tea, thus it is classified as a red tea when the Chinese tea categorization is used (which is common in loose leaf specialty tea circles). But in the West it is known as black.

                                    However, in Chinese there is another category of "black" (or "dark") teas, liquor of which is way darker and at times doesn't pass through the light.

                                      When a roller coaster's track goes upside down it's not always called a loop. The actual term is "inversion" which encompasses a wide variety of loops, rolls, and combinations thereof (for example a "cobra roll" is two half loops connected by a pair of twists in opposite directions such that the track looks like the outline of a cobra's head).
                                      Bonus fact: the distinctive clacking noise as one gets pulled up its lift hill is not caused by the chain itself, but rather a ratchet besides it designed to catch the ride vehicle so it doesn't fall back down and crash into something in the event of a malfunction.

                                      There must be so many variations of inversions between all the combinations. Is there a standardized taxonomy?

                                        @structuredsucc You can make enjoyable music with any cheap synth.

                                        My partner full-heartedly agrees. They would also like to be able to make a synth lol

                                          @structuredsucc You don't need an expensive camera and lens to take great photos.

                                          I wholeheartedly agree! And a little bit of knowledge about composition can go a long way
