I usually watch videos in #English. Recently I came across a few #FreeBSD videos on YouTube in #Italian, and wow, so much #misinformation and #fakenews 🫣

It would take just 5 to 10 minutes of reading the main handbook or even a quick look at a few man pages to avoid saying so many incorrect things.

The strangest part is that some users had commented with links to the official documentation, but those comments were removed. πŸ™

@alfonsosiciliano May just be engagement building. I don't think it has anything to do with the language.

@alfonsosiciliano Can you send me some links too, maybe privately? I’m curious to see them… and maybe roast them if needed.

Yep, same thing happens with Maths. There's a lot of disinfo around, which could easily be debunked by textbooks. It's like the admins are part of some weird conspiracy theory where they reject anything actually factual

@alfonsosiciliano Google often auto-removes (silently hides from the public) public comments that include links.

                  It's horribly frustrating.

@alfonsosiciliano count me in (privately) for link sharing. Thanks.

In the meantime, not video, but <https://www.reddit.com/r/freebsd/comments/1smvzxf/comment/ogkc446/?context=1> is an example where wrongness produced by AI is probably wrongness that originates in the FreeBSD Handbook. Food for thought.

I think it's time for alternatives like @peertube
