@spillanemike It depends on how far you are from your destination and the weather. Here in Poland, it's difficult to drive at -10°C and with several centimeters of snow.

Until just a few years ago, the EV revolution came on two wheels, and shared wheels.The e-cars are now catching up, and outside the "developed" countries faster than inside.

I ride a bike, I pedal. Then I replace it with a bike with a bunch of non-ecological chemicals from who knows where in the battery. OK. How did I reduce the demand for oil? -

How did I reduce the demand for oil?@Zoufalec @spillanemike did you read the article? The demand for electric bikes isn't driven by cyclists, it's driven by people who would otherwise use a car.

With several centimetres of snow, your not going to be driving an automobile either, but a tractor.
