The Sioux Ranger District of the Custer Gallatin National Forest proposes approximately 4,354 acres for commercial timber harvest, non-commercial (mechanical and hand-thinning) treatments and prescribed fire. Secondary prescribed fire or noncommercial treatments would occur 5-15 years later to maintain benefits.

#MTPol #PublicLands #MontanaFFS. We went through this with #GWB. A bill that combined commercial logging with environmentally sound fire risk mediation. After a couple of years, the money for the conservation mysteriously dried up. The logging continued.
