A8) I've seen people question why anyone would need to ride a full-suspension bike. I snapped this during a hike today; this is typical of the type of roads/trails I ride. Riding this on a non-suspension bike is an extremely unpleasant experience.

@ascentale @bikenite A8: Unfortunately, I do have a photo, or rather a screencap, wherein I have just discovered that City of Seattle, 2 Line Eastside, and King County GIS South appear to have substantial differences of opinion about land masses and where they belong.
It must be some sort of projection difference but wow has it put Maps 2.1 in a pickle

@ascentale @bikenite A8: after not having anything fun for last week's wildlife question I was walking to the shops the other day and saw a bluetongue lizard. In a very built up area. Sadly it vanished into a drainpipe so I couldn't get a photo. So here's a link

A8. This photo is actually from last week, Thursday, when I brought my slightly injured and groaning #eBike to Coal City Cycles in #Nanaimo, #BC. Their specialist was out (it's broken mountain biker season here) but they got it attended to and ready for pick up today. (Forgot to take pic for the homecoming.)
Smart cars have no hitch/bike carrier option.

A8 Photo from exploring the Albuquerque bosque. I realized on this ride that I've owned this bike for more than half my life (which is a long time, take my word for it).
Sometimes people tell me I should buy a more modern MTB. I can't imagine why. I love this bike, I've upgraded nearly all the components, and it fits me perfectly. I've ridden a few modern bikes and they don't seem any better at the sort of riding I enjoy.

these lovely bike racks in a large public garden caught my eye. one of my biking friends called them “a bike garden!”
the entire west hasn’t really had winter, so there were patches of crocus in bloom already.

Spotted by my other half while gravel biking along West Machine Gun Flats Road at Ft. Ord National Monument yesterday afternoon.

Ah… When I was llittle, the "pie lady of Winthrop" was famous for attracting truckers to a tiny town on the prairies. Minnesota has its own impact on world cuisines - not particularly fashionable, fancy, but favourite.
