    I have actively argued for the lesser of two evils. I held my nose and voted for Hilary. I encouraged others to do the same. I held my nose and voted for Kamala and encouraged others to do the same. I held my nose and voted for Biden and encouraged others to do the same.

    But if Gavin Newsom is the candidate, then the Democratic party learned NOTHING and they want to lose. If they keep moving right, they don't want my vote.

      @tofugolem I would hope…yeah I know…that Mamdani’s success would be a big signal.

        @tofugolem I’m the figurative old man yelling at the sky, but I need to keep yelling it - the Democratic Party is hopelessly inept. They have demonstrated over and over that they aren’t up to the task of meeting this moment.

        I suggest that state branches of the party start breaking away and reforming the party from the bottom. In red states, the party’s image has become such an albatross that Dems are unelectable before they even get past the primaries.

          @tofugolem right? they coulda had bernie twice. But -that- super popular candidate might have threatened the long running gravy train(s) the already obscenely wealthy have going on in war mongering and general crapitalism.

          Because of certain groups quietly knee capping folks who would threaten their gravy trains, we end up with lots of folks who have been deemed as "non threatening" by certain industries. Until more folks see how big money knee caps better candidates, weak Dems will prevail.

              @CJPaloma
              The Dems always seem to have exactly the right number of legislators who will screw their voters and vote with Republicans.

                @tofugolem so weird. I mean Pelosi and Clyburn personally going to campaign for anti abortion Cuellar (the guy Trump just pardoned) when he had a GOOD challenger to his left…surely that was just sort of a fluke, huh? Letting Cori Bush and Jamaal Bowman get taken out by AIPAC while they both happened to face more moderate Dem challengers (who took funding from????) was also just weird.

                  No one calling themself leftist, progressive, left of center, or even moderate should be openly declaring their willingness to vote for Newsom. He's a Republican on a long list of issues including opposition to a wealth tax on billionaires, hostility towards the trans community, a Hitlerian approach towards the homeless, and a willingness to associate with the most deplorable people on the planet including Ben Shapiro, Steve Bannon, and Charlie Kirk. Fuck Gavin Newsom.

                    This fake controversy was stirred up by right wing Democratic Party consultants panicking over the dismal approval numbers for establishment Democrats and the surging popularity of socialism and leftists like Mamdani.
