We’ve moved from a world of ownership to a world of permanent "user licenses." From software-as-a-service to heated-seats-as-a-service, the transition to permanent renting is a consumer trap designed to prioritize recurring revenue over user sovereignty.
I’m breaking down the architectural shift toward "Extractive Capitalism" and why the loss of ownership is the ultimate "lame" trend of the 2020s.

@kindalame great description. for me:
1. agency is fundamental. so people who choose for themselves this subordination to corporate masters is stupid but I can't stop them because I cannot in good conscience take somebody's consenting choice to be a vassal away from them.
2. if a company wrongs me in some way and I crush the skull of every evil fucking pule associated with it, that company will cease to exist. the people vassalised by it will be at a loss. to which the answer is tough shit.
