12 stars that mean the world to me. An ongoing experiment to create and maintain a transnational union of different countries, cultures and expectations. Always on the move, full of lessons learned from mistakes made. Far from perfect, but also far from being a failure. A continouous demand on all of us to make things better and to overcome the nay-sayers that focus on problems, not solutions. #ThanksEU

(I am sure the nay-sayers will soon enter the reply thread. You are welcome. As I said, the EU is far from perfect and there is a lot of work to be done to make it better and to undo mistakes being made. And that's what we all should do. Use our voices and actions to make things better. My life without the EU however would be very different. I wouldn't want to go back to that time. But that's just me. Your freedom to oppose me and my optimism — that's also part of the EU Charta
