geez, grow up
you could say the exact same thing about almost
every single fucking new technology ever@failedLyndonLaRouchite @spellingmistakescostlives Yes, we all laughed it off back when my Nintendo Entertainment System told me it was in love with me and we could be together on the other side as soon as I killed myself.

How do I get it in the ratio that'll fit nicely on tube as slots? Is it, like, an A3, then cut further?
I am willing to spend a day on the tube to set those up
Also, is there a black in white version, for those of us not made of toner?

this isn't exactly on point, but best I could do at short notice

@failedLyndonLaRouchite @spellingmistakescostlives You're absolutely right in saying that isn't on point.

actually, no, it is on point
every new tech, people like you complain about how dangerous it is
maybe you should talk to scientists doing research on cancer, who will tell you how important AI is to cancer research developing hte next gen of anti cancer drugs

@failedLyndonLaRouchite @spellingmistakescostlives That is unrelated to the point made in OP's poster.
Talk to those cancer scientists and they will probably agree that the cancer drugs they develop are serious business, not toys. Nobody would feel safe about putting their kid unsupervised in a room full of open vats of concentrated chemo drugs and saying, "hey, go nuts."
ChatGPT is being actively marketed as a safe and useful toy and tool to play with, and it is directly causing deaths.

@spellingmistakescostlives they don't build anything, they stole information, filtered, and just gave dopamine arranged responses to the general public

@failedLyndonLaRouchite @Rob_T_Firefly @spellingmistakescostlives You are comparing ChatGPT to a list of hazards (e.g. industrial tools, farm equipment, dangerous chemicals, high-voltage electricity).
Considering that society has in fact taken steps (including laws) to limit a child's exposure to the first set of hazards...
was your point that we need to do the same with ChatGPT? Cause if so, then it was totally deft on your part to draw a parallel to those 19th century hazards.
-
@spellingmistakescostlives @grrrr_shark I love the people who do these.
@GinevraCat @spellingmistakescostlives @grrrr_shark Looks brilliant! Nicely done.

partly yes: we need strong regulation around AI, not just for children
but partly no: pointing out that AI is not uniquely hazardous to children, but that all new tech has had some riskI mean, look at firearms right now in our effed up country with no gun control

@failedLyndonLaRouchite @Rob_T_Firefly @spellingmistakescostlives Many states have laws requiring gun safes. I have gun safes to keep my kids away from my guns. I've told my children not to touch a gun if they find one at a friend's house or somewhere out in the wild. If they find out a peer has brought a gun to school, they should calmly find an adult to tell.
ETA: it's illegal in the USA for a child to buy a gun or ammo.
So again, I applaud you in your choice of comparing ChatGPT to guns.
