@blogdiva The irony is that proof of citizenship is ALREADY a requirement…during registration. If you receive a ballot, you have been vetted. Republicans want to move the requirement to the point of voting, because they can use it to harass and deny voters once again who are ALREADY VETTED when they registered to vote.

@blogdiva It's far from the worst thing about how the USA mangles democracy, but you all seem to accept the citizenship requirement as obvious, and it isn't. Here in NZ you can vote if you've been legally resident for at least a year.
