They're all young
They're in peak physical condition
They're all gassed by this thrilling moment in their life
The accommodations are tight and collegial and there is plenty of mingling
I don't think humanity can invent a stronger aphrodisiac

i've heard that about a number of sports. soccer for example. that having sex recently hinders athletic performance
if i was in Cortina going for the gold, i would do some opposition research
specifically: what kind of person is my biggest rival attracted to?
i would then appraise everyone in the olympic village, find the person best matching those characteristics, chat them up and befriend them...
then introduce them to my rival
