Claude only understands words so it optimizes unit tests to produce words. I have to constantly ask it to use assertions instead, it dutifully adds assertions amidst a huge number of print statements. It makes the likely hood of me looking at the logs very small because they are so insanely verbose, because Claude only understands words (or tokens to be more precise). Words are a lousy way to understand and debug programs...
