@paco the connector looks like a standard K-type thermocouple connector.

@paco You should probably look into ESPHome, even though it can be a bit finicky at times.

@franz_e I’m not changing out my whole home automation system. I have dozens and dozens of devices on home assistant. Just looking to add this one.

@paco the back of the thermoworks reader says it is a type k thermocouple. They are very standard. There will be a million examples projects if you google “esphone type k thermocouple” that will guide you in the right direction.

A quick search of my own finds https://esphome.io/components/sensor/max6675/ which uses a MAX6675 chip to read the probe

@paco @franz_e ESPHome goes on an ESP32 and is a companion to home assistant. This is the way.

@paco @franz_e esphome is a microcontroller framework that makes it easy to integrate pretty much anything with home assistant. They are collaborating products, not competitors

@paco Exactly, and that's why you want to look into ESPHome, which is an addon for Home Assistant which let's you add custom devices to your existing HA setup quite easily (if all goes well). These custom devices will usually be based on ESP32 and the likes.

@paco sadly, Amazon has done a fantastic job with the logistics of shipping, delivery (home? Work? Locker at the local retailer?), and notifications (“your package is 10 stops away!” “Your package was delivered 3 seconds ago and here’s a photo of it”). It’s actually kind of amazing. Too bad they’re also fascist oligarchs.

For sure. If at first you don’t succeed, keep on sucking til you do succeed.

I think I legit found a bug in the PS5 game. I’m playing Blackbeard and I got to the exploration age and Settler was not a unit in my list. Can’t train, can’t buy, can’t even see it in the list as a unit that isn’t available. It’s literally not in the list. You can’t go far in the game if you can’t make settlers.

I took a bunch of screenshots and plan to post them on a forum later.
