@_elena it just feels...organic and non-toxic. As if it was mostly people interacting non-algorythmically with other people. Humane, is the word, i think. Also, im free to up and leave whenever. Its important to have some doors open, even if one doesnt plan to go through them

Matrix : parce qu'il me permet de retrouver le même type de relations que Usenet : des communautés de passionnés d'un sujet.

Mastodon, à l'origine pour la même raison que Matrix (ce qui est une erreur). À l'usage, cet outil permet des rencontres fortuites. Par exemple vous. Au fil du temps, je suis un petit groupe de personne dont je partage les intérêts. Mais pas toujours les opinions : il s'en suit des débats toujours courtois. Et quand ils ne le sont pas, je masque et j’oublie.

@_elena J'apprécie de ne pas me faire asséner se publicités à tout bout de champs, et de savoir que l'ordre des publications n'est pas manipulé dans le but de me rendre accro. Dans un climat géopolitique aussi instable qu'il est démoralisant, un réseau social qui n'encourage pas les mini-infos décontextualisées, polarisantes et souvent fausses est une panacée. Je peux décrocher quand je veux.
Y'a pas tout le monde ? C'est plus lent ? Y'a peu de vidéos ? Tant mieux, tant mieux, et tant mieux.

@_elena I have been in the fediverse for only a few months, and I can tell you, my experience has been way better than in any other social network, there is a feeling of getting connected with real people with real, people who share real and honest opinions, in contrast with the algorithm drive comments/posts from big tech networks, is actually refreshing.

@_elena J'aime le fediverse parce que, contrairement aux plateformes propriétaires, je peux y parler aussi bien de mon travail que de sujets qui n'ont rien à voir, sans me soucier de ce que pensera l'algorithme. Je peux discuter avec des gens qui ont des centres d'intérêt très différents.

Je suis de longue date un zélateur des logiciels libres.
De plus, même si ce n'est pas un critère premier, la confidentialité de ces réseaux est importante.

Ps : mes pouets ont une courte durée de vie

@_elena I have grown up on the countryside and always felt very isolated. I thought there is nobody else like me out there. Until I have found the Fediverse where I instantly felt home. Finally, I was able to share my interests and felt understood. The Fediverse has helped me to become the person, I am today.

@_elena Being in the Fediverse has really brought the “social” part of social media back for me. I’m not being gamed for engagement by a corporate company that wants to feed off my emotions, I can just interact with people online again, like how it used to be… like how it should be!
