    Across the US, people are dismantling and destroying Flock surveillance cameras

    Anger over ICE connections and privacy violations is fueling the sabotage. PLUS: 10,000 drivers call on Uber to repay stolen wages, a man is arrested at a public hearing about a data center and more.

        @neurovagrant This is seriously fucked up. It was one of the more reliable archive sites when it came to paywalls… Then again, I’m not too surprised (just disappointed), because of their endless captcha loop for clownflare, and Google DNS users.

            @neurovagrant Self defense - where the "corporations" struck first against privacy, free speech, and the once common freedoms.
            "Vandalism" in this useage is inaccurate and misrepresentative of the situation.

                  @neurovagrant I have to say I’ve tought about it but I think it will lead to additional surveillance to monitor the Flocks

                    @Viss @neurovagrant

                    At least Flock is stationary. Still no word on results and the plan if (when) moving forward isn't for silent mode either, ugh.

                    Edmonton Police Service partners with U.S. company to test use of facial-recognition bodycams | CBC News

                    The Edmonton Police Service will test the use of bodycams that employ facial recognition, a form of artificial intelligence. Starting Wednesday, up to 50 police officers will use the cameras for the remainder of the month. However some academics warn that the technology is still not well-understood or reliable.
