One thing that is a constant thought in the back of my head. " Where were the parents while these very young girls were being raped. on an Island" Did they just let these bastards take them . Oh, where having a slumber party at my Island????? WTF. That's in my head, why didn't anyone help? Did they know? Lots of questions....

Depends on various situations... it could've gone from 'grooming' (which is a 'gentle, subtle' way of getting into someone's good graces, all the way to kidnapping and everything in between (cults providing children, any 'groups' where you'd fine them). Poor countries are a particularly easy target market to buy people any age/gender no questions asked. Even in the US, addicts will sell you their kids to get $ for drugs.
