We have their devices routed through content management systems that we control, that we understand and monitor.
What are you doing to protect your kids on the internet?
As an adult, I don't need corporations keeping my kids safe.

Identify and ban those that expose children's safety and imperil their right to grow up free, safe and protected. We all know you have the funds, the human resources and expertise to do so and do it well. We are counting on you!

And the vast majority of measures proposed to protect children don't even do so effectively, they are just disguised schemes to increase the power of the state and the wealth of the already wealthy by leveraging some of the strongest human emotions to manipulate people into agree with policies not in their best interests. -

But age verification is not going to help, it just gives commercial organisations and governments access to everyone's private information, making the whole mess worse, and not enabling children and adults to discover and use the tools they need to keep them safe, and also endangers all that information. @onepict @EUCommission it is obvious to most people, even if this particular phrasing is mine, that you cannot "big tech companies collecting PII" your way out of a "big tech companies collecting PII" problem.
The only real solution is for these companies to know less about us, and critically, to not know who is of age. Until you're ready to treat that as a core requirement to build the rest of your online privacy policy around, you're not taking the problem of surveillance capitalism seriously.

@EUCommission Aber mit Einführung einer verpflichtenden Altersverifikation wird man das Problem nicht lösen, auch nicht mit einer Chatkontrolle, wenn man die Kinderschützen möchte würde man die schädlichen Algos bekämpfen, würde sichere soziale Netzwerke etablieren usw. und ganz wichtig man würde Geld in die Infrastruktur für Kinder stecken.
