A Pokemon pinball machine was released. I'm reading reactionary comments about it and it's really telling how big the generational gap with the Pokemon audience is, when there are people who see the pinball machine's price and then rant that no one will be able to ever play something that expensive.
Damn, if only there was some kind of a business model, where someone bought expensive *arcade games*, put them under one roof and had them operate on per play cost.
That'd be fucking amazing.

@apzpins A magical place that that would never exist....
I'm lucky enough to have two pinball cafes near my home. Love being able to access a variety of games across the ages I've only read about (like modern Sterns and JJP).

"Sweetie, you have Pokemon Pinball at home!"

@airshipper Yeah, imagine being in the same space with *people*! Forming IRL friendships and doing stuff together.
I'm both, appalled and disgusted.

@apzpins hih! Genius idea, you mean like we could set it up on twitch and have people flip flippers by posting messages?!

@PsySal Someone already did this. They put Batman '66 in a Twitch stream, then had a custom web page that replicated Pinball Fantasies' button layout to play it.
It was a fun idea, but as you can probably guess, it had a rather critical downside to something that requires near instant reflexes.

@shovemedia Yeah, it ain't a road to the riches, that's for sure. We still have the COVID era very well in our memories and how touch and go everything was. OTOH ours is just considered as a hobby++ in a sense that I don't attempt to live off it.
