    In 1968 I was 10 years old. A group of us girls were sick and tired of being freezing cold at recess, and at the Safety Patrol corners. Yes I was a 5th grade cop 😩🤓

    We organized. When we all went home for lunch, that's when we would change into pants.

    Mrs. Principal got wind of the plan, and proceeded to loudly berate us all before we went home, telling us we'd have to use the boy's bathroom the rest of the school year.

    Ok 👀

    The boys went crazy, renaming us "boy's" names (Steve 💪🏼). We never did have to "use" their bathroom, after my mom called the school.

    By the next day, pants were somehow acceptable. No jeans, though. Hippy shit!

Barbara Mikulski (D-MD) wore trousers - shocking the male-dominated Senate. This eventually led to the dress code being clarified to allow women to wear pants. @QueenOfTheCroneAge people don’t believe me when I tell them we were not allowed to wear pants to school. In 1967, my school decided we could wear them under our dresses while walking to school but had to take them off in the coat room. This is part of why I have white hot rage for women who say they’re not feminists. “Really? Take off your fucking jeans, then!”

          @MexicanYenta @QueenOfTheCroneAge

          *Everyone* should be a feminist. If you're not a feminist, then you're either a misogynist or you don't understand feminism.
