Centralisation makes abuse cheap. Decentralisation makes abuse expensive and cost-prohibitive. That's why the influencer business model doesn't really work in the #Fediverse. Here you can't buy sentiment. But many try (and waste money while trying, good πŸ˜‰

That's the more positive side. The same however goes for the negative side. Centralisation makes surveillance and algorithmic/Machine Learning/"AI" pattern matching cheap. That's Facebook/Palantir/Google etc's business model. Again. Only true decentralisation drives up the cost of surveillance to levels where it stops making sense. So. Decentralise. On all levels. #SelfHost the sh*t out of your digital presence πŸ™‚

@jwildeboer i'm pretty sure influence is possible on fediverse even by company.

they just need to forget the fact 2000 buks can buy them 5Million print, and instead "invest 50 - 100 buks" for a tousand print.

they always take the easy solution, and one thing algebra made me learn, the easy solution is always ... wrong.
