Finished Dune books 1 to 6 - all those by Frank Herbert.
I'm a little annoyed that it ends on a cliffhanger

I know his son carried on the saga but I don't want to keep going - his son's forewords before each book were annoying enough, sometimes even giving spoilers while fawning over his father!
It was a good long saga though. First one the best of course, some got a bit long winded and super weird, the last two were interesting and different, written from another perspective.

@sarajw I recently read the second book and knowing that the next movie will be based on this book I was a bit puzzled. How the hell could one make a movie of that book?

@sarajw I read the first three a couple of years ago, really should finish it off.

@robinwhittleton only if you *really* want to.
Book 4 is so odd. And 5 and 6 are quite separate.

@rjayasinghe oh I dunno! It's full of plots and intrigues.... Isn't it? I'm already starting to forget what's in which book

@sarajw this was the book with all the intrigues and plots. Also quite some drug trips.

Let's what the movie will be about.

@sarajw You’re making the right choice, I have nothing but regrets after continuing

@sarajw I've read the first two but stopped on seeing where the third one was going. Do I need to read the middle books or can skip straight to last two?

@sarajw I love those books… Leto II is one of my favorite fictional characters. I’ve read all the major prequels but totally agree that the prose in them is nothing compared to Frank’s original writing. My spouse went all in on them but through audio books which was great because she filled me in on all of the little lore details I never would have had the patience to find out for myself.
