    Um… Is raising $100 million in Series B funding and then just… not telling anybody about it for a year a thing that happens? Because at least in my experience, that's not a thing that happens.
    It seems like a pretty big red flag when a company raises $100 million and then decides they shouldn't tell anybody about it for a year.
    No?

      @jik
      I'm sure Mike Masnick (who sits on their Board) will have a perfectly reasonable explanation

        @jik pretty common for there to be some delay from close to announcement for startups. A year might be more than usual, but a few months is common

          Bain Capital? There's another red flag.

            @bruce I mean, yeah, there are _plenty_ of red flags when it comes to Bluesky.
            E.g., the marching orders of the new CEO they just brought are to "commercialize" Bluesky. I'm sure that's going to go great!

                  @EdCates @jik

                  I guess we're in stage two of Bsky's #enshittification. Now that they feel they have a sufficient user base, it's time to sell them out to businesses. Later, when they feel the businesses are trapped on the platform (for fear of losing access to their own customers) Sky can screw them over, too.
