      @CStamp when I worked seasonally at event traffic control for my county parks department, the worst to deal with were bicyclists, almost always aging white dudes in spandex, wannabe racers who didn’t want to stop for anything.

        @CStamp A guy speeding down a slight grade shortly after I got off a bus yelled something that I eventually deciphered as “passing on your left!” but I was turning towards the shout behind me as he only just missed me and kept going, yelling angrily how he’d said he was passing.

        The same guys who want cars to “share the road” are the ones who think sidewalks are for them and everyone else is intentionally inconveniencing them by using the sidewalk.

        (I say “guys” not as an all-genders term, but because *somehow* the asshole bicyclists I’ve met are all male.)

              @GPJohnston LOL. That perfectly describes my bad encounters. Not complete without the spandex. 😁

                  @CStamp What do the conflicts between bicyclists vs car drivers and bicyclists vs pedestrians have in common?

                    @CStamp

                    Even tho I agree with your observation, now, in hindsight, I never saw, felt or intended to do things like that in a "jerkish" way.

                    .. it was always just the simple survival race in the jungle. Maximum outcome, a little emotional "susto", a "Schreck" without mayor consequences, except that little arousal feeling of being alive.
                    😳

                          @CStamp Back when I used to in-line skate outdoors, it seemed that the skaters were more friendly towards those in front of them than bicyclists, with appropriate "on your left!"s.
