I spent 7 years working on Pixelfed almost every day, and in the past 18 months we've went from 200k users to over 1 million!
Some could argue the break after FediCon to build Loops was a mistake, but the fediverse needed a solid short video platform and I didn't want to force that on Pixelfed.
Now this summer belongs to Pixelfed.
Stay tuned, I want to improve the web and mobile apps for the next million or ten million new Pixelfed members
@dansup You should spend your time where you think best. That said, do you have any idea when the Android client for Loops will be available on the Play Store or F-Droid?

@mpjgregoire Thank you, and yeah I was working on Loops Android earlier tonight and it's ready to ship (Push Notifications will require a few more weeks on Android though).
I'll share more details next week!

@mpjgregoire Thank you, and yeah I was working on Loops Android earlier tonight and it's ready to ship (Push Notifications will require a few more weeks on Android though).
I'll share more details next week!
@dansup Terrific! I don't know if the Android client will lead to a major boost in users, but there will be at least one more.

@dansup I love Loops. With some fixes and more users I think it can completely replace Instagram for me. In fact, I just wiped my phone by installing Graphene on it, and I've only reinstalled Loops and not the Meta-owned hot garbage. Thank you for all your hard work!

@dansup I am proud one of million users of Pixelfed. Keep going. Honestly the “Suggested for you” posts and “Ad” posts on Instagram definitely killed me. I want @pixelfed to remain chronological. I remained happy the fact that it is ad-free here on pixelfed
