@Daojoan I wouldn't write an essay on why someone should work for me, but I also wouldn't want to start a company. Commercial environments filled with people hungry for fame and money bore me. 😒

From my experience in academic research, however, I know professors with whom collaboration is difficult. But most colleagues, staff, and students ultimately become yes-men. Even if they are exploited, harassed, or undermined. 😬

I've learned the hard way that openness and transparency aren't always appreciated, even when you point out problems with unscientific approaches in a master's student's methodology and she replies, “But that’s just how I like to do it.” 🙄

@Daojoan Feels like a lot of “founder mode” takes are just rebranding poor management as vision. Being demanding isn’t the same as being effective—great leaders still need trust, clarity, and a team that actually wants to work with them.

                        DIFFICULT?

As employees began to realize they are the bad guys?

I’m still stunned by the children inside Palantir asking if they are OK if Democrats and women are made worse soft because working men will have it better.

They don’t even recognize that the premise is a mendacious lie. No working people are better off under totalitarianism.
