For you cat people... When both my spouse and I are home and one of us talks on the phone, our cat is completely unbothered by it. But if only one human is home and talks on the phone, our cat goes crazy and meows and demands attention in the most annoying cat-like way. He doesn't do this in any other situation. What is it about "one human + phone conversation" that really triggers our cat that "one/two humans + anything else" does not? Anyone else see this behavior in their cat? #cats

@Ken5280 one of my cats has to clamber on me for attention if I am ever using speakerphone in the house. This is less than convenient as I am generally only on speakerphone because I need to be using my hands to do something else, while he clambers all over me purring his head off and demanding cuddles. I don't make or receive many voice calls, so don't have a lot of comparison to not-speakerphone behaviour.

@Ken5280 I haven't but every cat I've ever lived with has had very interesting idiosyncratic behaviours.

@Ken5280 I've seen this. My working hypothesis is that when someone else is in the room, you're talking to the other person, the concept of a phone being nothing to a cat. When you're alone, then you must be talking to the cat, so they're joining in on the conversation.
