most recent numbers as of last summer were 319,000, before T fired head of BLS which makes followup hard. Numbers are likely up to 400k now.
i see several calls to 'put this in perspective' so i will step in. Sociologists who specialize in social mobility are studying why this is the case and ongoing research explains why. Black women tended to be overrepresented in many government jobs vis a vis other jobs (not relative to the population) because these were seen as good jobs: they instituted merit based advancement and had protections against job discrimination, and were seen as a stepping stone to the middle class, providing stable benefits to workers with families and dual income households. There were also disproportionate cuts to agencies where more black women were employed in bureaucratic roles like information processing and front line service delivery (think like the DMV, but federal units like USPS or IRS etc). And then there is the anti-woke crowd looking at higher up and more visible staffing positions, where there have also been disproportionate changes under the accusations that any woman of color in their role must be an empty and ill qualified hire --utterly untrue, the black women I have personally witnessed at work at federal agencies if anything have to be more qualified and hard working than many of their peers and are still often subject to slights and disrespect by outsiders who seem unaware of their impeccable credentials. Many of these families are in the first or second generation of higher education and wider access to employment so they have limited wealth or reserves to fall back on compared with other demographic populations. The hit has been disproportionate, full stop. ofc a great many people across the private sector and the wide swath of the middle class have lost their jobs, so this cld easily get overlooked as a drop in the bucket -- but those who study the great gains in social mobility across demographics see this as a catastrophic moment.

What you describe includes Federal contractors, which adds basically employees of any company that has Federal government contracts. Every employee who works on things that may be part of a contract for the Federal government is a Federal contractor (and that's usually the case for employees of most larger corporations, as e.g. has been shown when the Biden administration applied a vaccine mandate to all "Federal contractors", which then was interpreted to cover every employee of every company that has a Federal government contract).
They're not part of the Federal workforce, but they indeed probably are almost the entire rest of the 300k.
All I'd be asking for is to rephrase the OP to say that Trump's policies caused 300k Black women to lose their jobs. Just remove the word "federal". Then it's the cold truth. And 300k - that's 0.1% of all Americans, and almost 3% of all working black women. This is definitely a scandal.

We don't have clear stats on other sectors since so many other indicators are now down, missing, unfunded, or leads replaced with syncophants.

@cyberlyra @InkySchwartz @rubbel @popcornreel So basically you're now redefining terms to include what they have never included before - contractors have never been considered part of the federal workforce, specifically because these people usually _also_, even _primarily_, work on non government projects.
Sure, you may as well go and say "federal workers" mean "everyone working at all within the US, as opposed to any particular state", but that's not what the term means.
The statistic quoted however was about all sectors combined. Let's just say Trump caused 2.5% of black employed women to lose their job. That's true, it demonstrates the racism of their policies, and also big enough to be a proper scandal.
The next scandal should be that Trump caused none of those groups to _gain_ employment. His policies literally made everyone worse off. They just harmed blacks and women _more_. Which also contradicts the right-wing claims of "meritocracy" - as the US are going _down_ by those policies being enacted, not _up_.
