@adriannyc this looks sick as heck! We are marching ever closer to the day when everything can be linuxed. What TV is this? Or is this a USB plugged into the TV situation?

@wombatpandaa its a regular tcl TV I connected my laptop via HDMI. Can't stand seeing android tv full of ads 🤣. I have heard that the brand Spectre makes tvs without any preloaded OS.

@adriannyc ahh okay! I wondered if that was the case. I'm hoping that I'll be able to set up a Steam Machine as a similar sort of set top box thing, for the same reason. I usually use an Amazon Echo Cube and it's riddled with buggy apps and annoying ads.

@wombatpandaa if only steam releases the ISO for steam OS I'll gladly build a small gaming box. That would be cool. I'm guessing the Steam Machine will be pricy.

@sneaky4oe compared to Android TV the possibilities are endless flathub applications work great the UI is straightforward without bloat.

@adriannyc there's already an iso for the handheld version so I'd imagine they'll release the desktop version too. And of course the various handheld editions of gaming distros. So there's options!
